General Summary: The fire department Lieutenant performs supervisory duties over his/her shift by directing the overall activities of the shift; establishing goals, objectives, and priorities. Responds to fire and other incidents, assuming command until relieved by a superior officer. Develops and conducts training courses at the company level daily; serving as a coach and mentor to subordinates. Ensuring compliance with city and department rules and regulations. Participates in all required training and maintains required professional certifications to always ensure operational readiness. Prepares a variety of regular and special reports and maintains station records and logbooks. Participates in station, apparatus, and equipment maintenance. May perform the duties of a training officer, Fire Inspector or Investigator as assigned. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands: Employees must be physically and mentally able to perform the essential duties of their position without excessive absences. Must be able to life and carry objects or drag persons weighing more than 150 pounds. Must have normal hearing and corrected vision to 20/20. Must be able to accurately distinguish colors by sight. Must be able to lift, stand, push, and pull for extended periods of time, while working in hazardous conditions.

168 Hours (7 Days) 5-9 Years
240 Hours (10 Days) 10+ Years
Sick Leave: 96 Hours (4 Days)
